We love hanging out with our customers.…and….we love caravanning and camping….so….we put the two together. We thoroughly look forward to our Jayco Mackay Customer Appreciation Weekends and have no intention of stopping these any time soon. We’re trying to mix it up and do something different each time but the principal remains the same – It’s all about hanging out together, sharing stories, meeting new friends and having fun. We love rewarding our customers so we usually spoil the kids a bit, fire up the bbqs and also put on some form of entertainment whether it’s trivia, live music, movies or games for the kids.
We’re trying to spread the weekends away around the local region so that we get to see a new place each time.
We are proud to announce that Jayco Mackay will again be sponsoring the Isaac Regional Council’s ‘St Lawrence Wetlands Weekend’.

CUSTOMER APPRECIATION WEEKEND #11 – DISCOVERY PARK AIRLIE BEACH, 19TH-21ST NOVEMBER 2021
We went back to Airlie Beach again for some fun in the sun. This time it was the Discovery Park at Jubilee Pocket, formerly Airlie Cove.
The weather was perfect and the park was lovely. Lots of birds and the updated pool didn’t disappoint either.
On Saturday we had a local talented artist Chris Booroff perform for us while we enjoyed the sunset BBQ. Celebrity heads was a lot of fun too.
Sunday morning brekky burgers filled the spot before we all departed!
If you haven’t visited Hold it flats before, then you must come along. It is a great spot and we’re sure this will be added to your list of favourite camp sites in our region. It is situated by the O’Connell River and there is a nice little swimming hole to take a dip (if you are brave enough to jump in the cold water!). We will be staying at the trackside camp site which is on your left as you arrive. Access to the camp grounds is easy so any caravan and camper trailer can come along. The address is 4 Cathu Oconnell River Rd, Yalboroo, QLD 4741.
If you purchased a van from us and still own that van then you’re invited!
Here’s the plan:
Two-night stay, Friday and Saturday. Of course you are welcome to extend your stay either side of our event so you will have to book this on the Hipcamp site and book your extra days yourself. Please choose the trackside camping.
On Friday night there will be a casual meet and greet but due to Covid restrictions we won’t be having any share platters.
On Saturday we are planning a massive camp oven cook-up with beef and pulled pork burgers and roast veges for dinner. We ask guests to bring their own dinner plates along.
Sunday morning breakfast will be provided – bacon and egg burgers (as always ?)
We will be driving up to the famous Cathu look-out on Saturday afternoon but note this is 4×4 access only. If you don’t have a suitable vehicle you will have the opportunity to carpool with other guests who have spare seats. The views are breathtaking so it is well worth the trip. For those who are more adventurous, the infinity pool is a challenging drive (approximately 2 hours each way) so we only recommend this for experienced drivers with adequate offroad vehicles.
The host Katie-Ann can provide a milk crate full of firewood for $10 (please bring cash) and there are fire pits available on site if you wish to soak in the atmosphere with a campfire at your camp at night.
A couple more things about Hold it flats:
The camp fees for the Friday and Saturday nights are at a flat rate of $9/person/night. Kids under 8 years stay for free. Jayco Mackay is managing the group booking so you will need to book with us direct on 49421292. Please speak to the girls in admin who can take your camping fees over the phone (credit card preferable). We’ll then email you a receipt and booking confirmation.
We’re looking forward to catching up with you all once again.
From the Camilleri’s and the team at Jayco Mackay.

We re-ignited our Customer Appreciation Weekends at the wonderful Barracrab Caravan Park at Clairview and despite a bit of wet weather we had a fantastic weekend. All of the staff at the park were very friendly and made our stay very comfortable.
The park is situated on absolute beach frontage with unbeatable views. The free camping area is also a top spot!
A few of us went for a game of Golf at Brandybottle which is a hidden gem just off the highway. Some people tried their luck fishing off the beach and a couple of people even put in some crab pots in the nearby creek. Mostly our customers chose to just relax and soak up the beachside atmosphere at the park.
The Sunday ANZAC Service by the beach was very moving. It was a beautiful spot to watch the sunrise and it was fantastic to see so many people attend the service.
Being held over the long weekend was a great opportunity for many guests to stay the Sunday night and we were lucky enough to have some live music at the bar and a relaxing pub feed to round off the weekend.
A killer weekend at Airlie Beach as always! This time we took the dunking machine and managed to raise over $500 which went towards Movember (yes those moe’s were temporary). Marianne was the drawcard dunk though with our very own Brock from the workshop sealing the deal.
The weekend went as follows:
It’s always a treat heading back to our prized Cape Hillsborough. The weather was spot on (except for a couple of those crazy wind gusts during the night).
The weekend layout was as follows:
Special thanks to Ben and Renea once again for hosting our weekend.
We finished the year with a bang! Airlie Beach hosted our 5th Customer Appreciation Weekend at Big 4 Adventure Whitsunday. As most locals will know this park is outstanding for families with their recently constructed Water Park consisting of 13 water slides, kids club, animal park, and more!
The plan was to keep this weekend very simple to give customers flexibility to enjoy the park as they please. Friday evening pizzas for everyone was nice and simple and allowed everyone to get down to relaxing right away. Saturday was free time until we gathered for an extended Happy Hour, fun and games and a signature Jayco Mackay BBQ.
‘Pancakes by the Pool’ was the perfect way to end the weekend! The weather was perfect and it couldn’t have went better.
We treasure our Pioneer Valley but many of us never realised how much of a little gem Finch Hatton Showgrounds would be to camp at – the view, the greenery, the fresh air and great company. Some of our lasting memories from the weekend will include campfires, Pig on a Spit, Bingo in the hall and how cold it was on Saturday night! Thanks for everyone who made the trip out and joined in on the fun!
We picked the perfect weekend for this one. Not too hot to break a sweat, not too cold to shy away from the pool. Conway Beach Tourist Park is a meticulously groomed park and in a great spot. We kicked the event off with make-your-own Pizza’s on Friday night. Then on Saturday we enjoyed the afternoon at the park hanging out with each other and playing a series of games and activities. On Saturday night, many guests told us that the steak was some of best they’ve ever had – it must have been good because it all got cleaned up. We won’t talk too much about the Karaoke. On Sunday morning we took the kids down to the beach to go digging for treasure then finished the weekend off with a hearty breakfast. Thank you to Debbie, George, Warren, Taylah and Tiani. P.S. George’s Diner is ‘must see’.
The weather was not looking good a few days before but we somehow managed to pick the perfect gap and the weekend worked out beautifully. On Friday we all caught up and brought a plate to share. Then on Saturday we had some 4×4 fun and set off down the beach and onto the bush tracks to explore the area. No-one got bogged thankfully and a lot of people got to experience driving on the beach for the first time. In the evening we had a massive cook-up, live acoustic music and give-aways for the kids. A breakfast bbq made sure that no-one was going home hungry! A huge thanks to Ben and Amanda for their help and hospitality over the weekend.
Being our inaugural event, we weren’t quite sure what to expect. We kept the format simple – Saturday afternoon beach sports – cricket and soccer. A referee or two might have come in handy though. We put on a massive barbeque feast and then Trivia came out. There were a few sharp minds amongst the group and the winning team got some goodies to take home.
Ben and Renea made us feel most welcome. The kangaroos put on a show, the weather was perfect and it was a weekend to remember.
